What Happens When You Cancel
- Your bill will be pro-rated. When you cancel your U-M Online service, your bill will be pro-rated for the month in which you cancel. You pay only for the days during which your U-M Online account was active.
- You should transfer e-mail and files that you want to save to another account. For information about transferring your messages to a new mailbox, downloading any files in your IFS space, deleting obsolete mail groups, and more, see Closing Out Your Computing Account.
- Your e-mail mailbox will be deleted. Your U-M Online e-mail mailboxand all the messages in it will be permanently deleted six months after you cancel your U-M Online subscription. This does not apply to U-M retirees; retirees can keep their U-M e-mail mailbox for life, regardless of whether they subscribe to U-M Online.
